For players
Half court rental, by the hour
One of three half courts, to yourself, for as long as you booked it. $30 an hour.
Getting real work in is usually a logistics problem rather than a motivation one. The outdoor rim is wet, the rec centre has a programme on, the gym you belong to has one hoop and four people waiting for it.
A half court booking removes that. You pick an hour, it is yours, and you can plan around it - the same slot every Tuesday, or 6am on a morning you know will otherwise get away from you. There are three half courts here, so the floor you wanted is usually still there when you go to book it.
What it suits
- Solo workouts. Form shooting, ball handling, footwork - the repetitive work that needs a rim nobody is queueing for.
- Two or three players. Shooting games, one-on-one, small-sided work with a friend rebounding.
- Parents and kids. A quiet floor with no crowd is a very different experience for a younger player than a busy open gym.
- Before or after a game. A warm-up that is not the hallway, or shots after a rough night.
How the booking works
Open Kenko, search Max Speed Elite, then tap BOOKINGS at the bottom of the app and choose your slot. Pay in the app and you get a confirmation straight away. When you arrive, open the app and scan the electronic pad by the door - that is your way in, so install it before you drive over.
The full booking walkthrough has every step in order.
Questions people ask
- Who should book a half court?
- Individual players and small groups. If you are putting up shots, working on handle, or running two-on-two with friends, the half court is the one you want.
- What does a half court cost?
- $30 an hour, booked in 1 hour intervals, at any hour of any day.
- How many half courts are there?
- 3. Three separate floors, so a busy evening is much less likely to mean nothing is free.
- How do I book one?
- In the Kenko app, tap BOOKINGS at the bottom and choose your time. That path is specifically the half-court booking.
- Can I bring people with me?
- Yes. A half court comfortably takes a small group. If you are running an organised session or coaching for money, book the full court instead.
- What if I want the whole floor?
- Book the full court. It is the same app, a different option, and it is required for trainers and coaches.
Coaching rather than playing?
Trainers and coaches book the full court, not a half. It is the rule that keeps a paid session from running into somebody else’s game.
